Getting Back Up to Speed

I have been working my butt off.  We moved from Manchester, TN to Geneva, AL.  Geneva is right on the NW Florida borderline.  The entire move has been HOT.  I have moved back into my Forever Home (see former blog date).    Antonio has never, actually, lived here.  When I was living here before I was very sick and my knight in shining armor would come by and save me about every 2-3 weeks.    He and I were doing some serious dating back then.

Antonio has transferred with Home Depot. I am starting the eBay business back up again but I changed the name. It is Devine Salvage now. Just to give you a sneak preview of the items that we are finding everywhere in this old house I am showing you what my honey pulled out of the shed today. You can see the wonderful pond in the background. I'm still missing not having my ducks. It looks like a yard sale on the front patio, except the big difference is that there is alot of work that has to be done before any of it can be sold.

Aren't these really cool very old gas cans?!?!?!?!  The other stuff is just that STUFF.

To give you an idea of what goodies have been in storage:  here are two fabulous antique tables.  The one side table has a marble top.  The other is a small coffee table that goes in the setting area of our bedroom.  There are also a really cool set of blinds that will be used somewhere?!?!?!

The biggest job I've had at hand is the KITCHEN.  I am a really great and passionate cook so it has been hard being without a kitchen.  I will show you the before pics of the mid-century modern (totally not modern) kitchen.

It is now in the middle of a major paint job.  I am totally shabby chicing my kitchen for now.

Yes that is Pink.  The cabinets, crown moulding and basic trim is white.  The over sized moulding around the doors and windows is pale grey.  I am so lucky to have a wonderful husband that has embraced the shabby transformation.  Right now the switch plates are dark Grey but they are fixing to get another coat of paint because they are currently dark grey.

This is a sampling of the carnival glassware, Fenton and random vintage items that will be going into the stores.  I think I have finally decided that the eBay store will be for Daddy's stuff and Etsy will be for mine.  They both have the same name  "Devine Salvage".  The blog will be of the same name.  Daddy is closing his stores in the antique malls and slowly bringing bit by bit over here for me to sell.  Bless Daddy's heart he thinks if he is awake that he is suppose to be working.  I, on the other hand, have been trying to regain my health (with the help of my sweet husband) for the last 3 years.  Antonio, again, is also putting up with all the weight I have gained in the process.

As you can see there is so much work ahead of us.  We will be taking it one day at a time as you can see.  I will be sharing the items in the store on FB and Pinterest as we grow.

Thanks for taking the time to go on this journey with me.    So long for now.

  1. I love the pink color you have chosen for shabby chicing your kitchen...when we use to live in Penna., my kitchen was lavendar with white trim..it felt good doing alot of work and cooking in that room because I was surrounded by one of my fav colors. Your pink color looks very pale, but I love that, and would probably choose that color too..also, I could see how pretty a silver or pink color mixer would be sitting on your kitchen counters with the pink coloring! So pretty..still love that window too!
